I was sitting on the plane on my way to the Bahamas when this topic came to mind.

Its importance struck me as I was reading a book called “The Four Obsessions of an Extraordinary Executive” by Patrick Lencioni.

In summary, one of the lead characters of this book nearly destroyed a company because of his insecurities. He covertly lashed out at his colleagues and reeked internal havoc in a beyou_logo_RGB_72dpicompany all because he was insecure in whom he was.

He was used to operating in environments where being a chameleon of sorts was necessary for his survival and or success in the corporate environment. However, his new environment required authenticity in himself. What a novel concept?! **sarcasm should be noted here** 😀

Authenticity …. Something the character in this book had never actually cultivated in his self because he was too busy trying to be who everyone else thought he should be! … If this sounds oddly familiar to you, great! I’m on the right track! 😉

Essentially, at the end of the day, we were all born with an internal compass! One that we’ve been trained to ignore for the entirety of our lives because from birth we were groomed to seek personal validation from the approval of others.

TODAY (whatever day you’re reading this) is YOUR day to stop and examine the authenticity of who you are and how you act relative to your internal compass….relative to whom you were created to be!

If you find yourself in a situation or situations where you are consistently being an inauthentic version of yourself….if you don’t even have a clue as to what your authenticity feels like anymore, today is YOUR day to start soul searching!!

We are born knowing who we are…but sometimes, we just get lost along the way!
